Social Networking: a loss of privacy

21st century is the era of Social Networking. Human being entered a world of virtual communities and networking, but a virtual world without privacy. It has its best and worst. The worst part of social media is the loss of privacy. Many people aren’t aware of this loss of privacy, but some are. Yet we are willingly jeopardizing our private information to the open world.  In 2010, Nashua police reported that a bugler was able to brake in and stole between $100,000 and 200,000 worth of properties by the homeowner’s Facebook status “that they would not be home at a certain time” (abc news). The creator of social media purposely made it free so it’s easier for them to gather private information and make business out of it. Nevertheless, it’s up to us how much privacy we are willing to give up.
